10:55 am: The Five Times Severus Called Harry an Idiot and the One Time He Said What He Meant (Steampunk AU)
Title: The Five Times Severus Called Harry an Idiot and the One Time He Said What He Meant (Steampunk AU)
Rating: PG
Pairing(s): Harry/Severus
Word Count: 8,500
Warnings: Steampunk AU, No porn
Disclaimer: The world of Harry Potter and its characters belong to JK Rowling, her publishers and Warner Bros. I have made no money from this work of fiction and no copyright infringement was intended.
A/N: For [info]awrence, who deserves way more than this and hopefully knows it. I have this whole ‘verse in my head and this is just a small part of it. Unfortunately, plot gives me hives and after reworking the same 3K five times, I finally decided to just do a Five Times fic and backburner the plotty bit until my muse sucks less. Also, this was beta'd (over the course of the time it took to write it) by three wonderful ladies: [info]bohemeyourself, [info]dracosoftie and [info]roozetter

Summary/Snippet:Suddenly, the box in Severus’ hands felt heavier, the weight of it no longer determined by the object within, but by everything he had refused to acknowledge during its creation. It was more than bits of metal, glass and carefully procured feathers; it now had meaning, and Severus wondered if it meant the correct thing, if he had somehow missed the mark with this gift.

12:34 am: Severus/Harry: Purr-fect
Title: Purr-fect
Pairing: Severus/Harry
Rating:PG-13
Word Count: 766
Warnings: So AU it’s not even funny. Severus and Harry are...cats, mentions of animal sex (nothing graphic!!)
A/N: This was written especially for [info]atypicalsnowman as I swore I would make her laugh. Possibly I broke her a little with this, but that’s okay, because Severus *sighs* is very good at putting people back together again! Sadly, she was also the person I made give it a quick read-through. I’m a horrible, horrible person, yes I know. Cat!Harry would probably be a few months older that this and Severus would looks like this, only older as well.

Summary: Harry’s up to his usual antics and Severus is left with only recourse.

12:50 am: A Letter to the Grand Challenge Participants
To all the Grand Challenge Fest’ers over at Severus Sighs!!

This one is for you writers still slaving away over your keyboards, diligently pounding out page upon page of background information, plot and porn. And for you artists who are neck deep in clay, have forgotten how to use a pencil for anything other than sketching and have paint in places you didn’t even know were exposed to the elements. So yeah, this is to all the participants and all their various mediums.

You can do it.

Sounds rather understated and simplistic, doesn’t it? Well, do not be fooled. This is my complete faith in you.

Perhaps you have undertaken what you feel is the impossible. Then end draws ever closer, there are a million distractions staring you in the face and the idea that seemed so utterly brilliant back in March or April is now threatening to strangle you in your sleep...if it doesn’t have you crying first. Maybe you hate it all so much you want to back out, or perhaps you’ve taken to hiding it away. Has it become the Dementor to your writer’s/author’s soul? Are you fighting tooth, nail and curse to keep yourself on track?

I bet you are. And you’re doing a wonderful job. You will triumph. You know you will. Hell, we know you will. This is the challenge of the year and you have stepped up to the plate to show the masses just how spectacular you are.

So if you’re at that breaking point, take a step back. Put down the pencils, the paints, the canvases and pads. Tuck away your computer, wash the clay from your hands and make yourself a cup of tea. Hop onto YouTube and watch a funny vid (or find something angsty, if that’s what your muse requires) or create a new Playlist in your music player of choice. Label it ‘The Day I Conquered the Grand Challenge’ (or just Grand Challenge Triumph), fill it with all the songs you can think of and then post it to your blog to share with us.

Make yourself some popcorn as well. Air popped is preferred, but if you don’t have that, stovetop or microwave is acceptable. Practice tossing it into the air and catching it with your mouth, all the while knowing that if Severus *sighs* were to catch you at it, he would probably do the eyebrow thing and lip twitch we all know wants to be a smile but is usually a smirk instead. But don’t worry, he understands. He told me so himself. In fact, he also asked me pass along a message, but since, ‘Stop your whinging and Get. To. Work. sounded rather rude, I decided to omit it. *wink*

Once you have stretched your fingers and allowed the creative part of your brain to relax for a moment, then pull out a notepad and jot down some ideas you have for what you’re working on. Why am I suggesting you write it versus jumping right back in and doing it? Because sometimes you need the distance to see all the possibilities, to recapture the beauty of what you are doing. Plus, writing by hand takes you back to the romantic era, the one technology is trying to smash to bits.

When you have completed these assigned tasks, I suggest a nap. Or a long, hot bath. Let your brain absorb it all, assimilate the new ideas and your hands rest. Yes, there is a deadline, but you shouldn’t be so overdone by the time you turn in your completed piece that you hate it. After your nap, however, it is time to get back to work. Hopefully you will be refreshed, ready to face any and all new challenges that come your way. Rest assured, you will be ready to do this.

And I will be rooting for you the whole way.

But let’s not forget about those of us who did not sign up. We are just as important as those who did, because we are their cheerleaders. It is our job to encourage them as they undertake this journey, offering up whatever aid we can. If you chose to beta, that is excellent. Your services will no doubt be invaluable. And if you did not, that is okay, too. As long as you remember to peek into the Lounge, dust off the hunched over bodies hard at work and whisper endearments (or harsh threats should they not look appropriately cowed by the looming deadline) to the worker bees every so often.

It helps, honest.

On that note, I shall take my leave. I have, as I said to...someone, no less than thirty fics I should be working on, now that my Snarry Haiti auction fic for Helen is done. It is time to buckle down get things done. You know, after the snack, movie watching and nap. :D

The best to you all!!

~Fae

P.S. No, I did not re-read this letter, so there are probably a million missing words and a million and one comma issues. The latter are still my kryptonite. This will not change.

09:01 pm: Harry Potter Drabbles: The 'M' Word

Title: The ‘M’ Word

Author: Fae (FaeryQueen07)

Pairing: Harry/Draco

Rating: PG

Word Count: 170

Disclaimer: The world of Harry Potter, as wonderful as it is, belongs to JK Rowling et al, and not to me. Therefore, I make no money from this.

A/N: Written in memory of Digitallace, who, sadly, took a long walk off a short pier while weighted down by my loathing of this prompt, here is my drabble for ‘moist sock.’ Or maybe her soul was consumed by a demon summoned by Harry and Draco. Yeah, that sounds good, too. And painful. *glares at Digitallace* Find drabbles to the same prompt done by Digitallace here: http:// www. fanfiction. net/s/5684416/7/  and dracosoftie’s drabble here: http:// www. fanfiction. net/s/5669563/21/Drabbles

Summary: Draco is out for revenge.

10:23 pm: NCIS LA Drabble: The Assignment

Title: The Assignment

Author: Fae (FaeryQueen07)

Pairing: Sam Hanna/G Callen

Rating: G (I think...?)

Word Count: 250

Disclaimer: NCIS Los Angeles and all of its delicious characters are, sadly, not mine. I make absolutely no profit from this fic, so suing me would be cruel and pointless.

A/N: The prompt of 'Glamour' was chosen by ScarletQuill. While waiting for her response, you can find dracosoftie’s here: http:// www (dot) fanfiction (dot) net/s/5669563/4/Drabbles

Summary: Sam and Callen are undercover. They’ve just discovered what that means.

02:33 pm: NCIS Los Angeles Drabble: The Witching Hour

Title: The Witching Hour

Author: Fae (FaeryQueen07)

Pairing: Sam Hanna/G Callen

Rating: PG (I think...)

Word Count: 250

Disclaimer: NCIS Los Angeles and all of its delicious characters are, sadly, not mine. I make absolutely no profit from this fic, so suing me would be cruel and pointless.

A/N: The prompt, given by @Shanajaca, was ‘diapers. The title has absolutely nothing to do magic and everything to do with children’s innate sense of when it is least convenient for them to be awake.

Summary: Sam finally gets to see the softer side to Callen.

11:24 pm: Sherlock Holmes Drabble: Cookies

Title: Cookies!

Author: Fae

Pairing: Holmes/Watson

Rating: PG-13 (for innuendos)

Word count: 233

Disclaimer: Sadly, from what I understand, Jon Lellenberg owns all the rights to Sherlock Holmes and his faithful companion, Dr. John Watson. I’m just a minion of the Muse of Slash. I make no money and I claim nothing as my own.

A/N: This was done for a drabble challenge drawn up by one of dracosoftie’s reviewers using the word ‘cookie.’ Read it at your discretion. I was immediately—and viciously—attacked by a rabid bunny.

12:05 am: On writing...
On writing, be it fan fiction or original fiction. This post is geared not only towards writing fan fiction, but writing slash. Nothing slashy is actually mentioned. Just writing. And, though I’m not sure why, sailing... I have not edited this post but this is a cross-post from my LJ account. It occurred to me that this one was even more neglected than the other, so I will attempt to post anything relating to the HP world here as well...

Can I just say that I am having an impossible time finding a beta?  I need to find one so that I have more motivation to finish this damn story I've been working on since last November!  Sheesh.  All I can is that I'm glad that it is summer because that means that I can work on that story and all the other ones that I've failed to finish over the years.  Now, about finding a beta...

09:05 pm: A Tribute to Robert Knox

I’ve already posted this on LiveJournal, but I want to get the word out.  I’ll no doubt post it on Myspace as well.

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" isn't even out yet, won't be for some months, but all the same, I feel a tribute needs to be made for Robert Knox, who was killed on May 27th outside a club (view story here: http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1588071/story.jhtml).  I know nothing about him, but I do know this:  He was young, he was well-loved and he deserved the chance to learn about all the different things life has to offer.  It makes me so sad, breaks my heart even, to hear of all the tragic losses going on around us.  His made the news here in the U.S. because he is/was a part of a major motion picture.  He played a character (Marcus Belby) in one of the greatest series (books and movies, though I still hate David Yates) and for that, he will be forever immortalized.  That does not mean, though, that I don't silently mourn for every young person who has died needlessly.  Even when unaware of who that person is, I know that someone out that just had their future stolen away from them.  I see that tragic fate every time I look at my daughter and wonder, 'was it such a good idea to bring another life into this world?'  Not because I regret her, but because I don't want to have her snatched away from me.

Mr. and Mrs. Knox, Jamie (if that's not too bold), while I cannot even begin to fathom just what it is you are going through right now, please know that my heart goes out to all the same.  To all the parents who have ever been in their position, I repeat those words and add this: your child deserved the world though the world never did anything to deserve them.  To everyone:  I can only hope that the memories you were left with bring you joy in your times of darkness.  I have little to no belief in the afterlife, in a higher power, but that does not mean that somewhere out there right now, your child isn't looking down on you with a love that shines and burns more brightly than the sun could ever hope to.  My heart aches for your losses!

10:18 pm: Thoughts...
I get these thoughts sometimes, and they haunt me until I can't think straight.  I never said they made sense or were even worth reading, so don't blame me.

More thoughts about the gentlemen.  Lucius and Snape, if you couldn't figure it out.  Two pages, no convo, just a scene.  Not my boys, unfortunately, though if JK Rowling knows a real-life Snape, I hope she sends his number my way.

(DH compliant for the most part, so if you haven't read it, don't read this.  It hints at a major spoiler and disregards the epilogue completely because that was just totally unnecessary...)

10:19 pm: Personal Ads
I find sites like match.com and such to be a bit odd.  I'm not really a relationship person to begin with, but can you really find someone you'll be happy with that way??  My friend, however, has found a new one.  Something called sugardaddie.com.  Self-explanatory, I'd think.  So I've decided to write up my own 'SWM' ad.  Not that I'd only go for someone white, but there is someone I have in mind...

03:32 pm: Tea time
So, I was sitting at work, staring off into space with a mug of tea in my hands, when my friend emailed me. In a moment of [ongoing] weakness, I caved to the imagery in my head concerning one Severus Snape and his Death Eater compatriot, Lucius Malfoy (characters belong to J.K. Rowling and her publishing house, so don't sue me...). As I've promised myself that I'd actually use this, here goes...

11:15 pm: A Note to Readers
I'm terrible at keeping journals. Utter shite at it. So if months go by and you see nothing new, email me a pointed comment at my lack of creativity, and I'll hop right to it. I just get lazy, that's all.
